If you want to send a message to a HipChat room, you first need to setup a HipChat integration for Automation for JIRA.  This provides a URL with an authentication token, that Automation for JIRA can use to send messages to your private HipChat rooms.  This integration can be revoked at any time.

Setting up a HipChat integration can be done in 3 simple steps.

1. Navigate to https://www.hipchat.com/addons/ and select your room:

2. Select "Build your own integration" and enter a suitable integration name (this is the "From" name that messages will appear under in your HipChat room):
